Mesnaoui/Schick

Amine Mesnaoui [Rabat/Berlin] – fender rhodes, harpsicord, grand piano
Ignaz Schick [Berlin] – turntables, motors, objects, gongs, bows, organ pipes, voice, electronics

An already legendary German/Moroccan collaboration with a blind and magic understanding for highly sensitive & obscure atmospheres which can easily lead into heavy psychedelia and trance-like repetitions. Powerful and multilayered electro-acoustic tableaus being contrasted by eclectic and minimal piano passages. Motors are buzzing like insects, distant voices and strongly processed percussion are contrasted by repetitive harpsicord clusters before finally taking off into hypnotic one-string-tonearm bass figures & “mallet-inside rhodes” afro-psychedelic trance rhythms.
In February the duo went a day into the studio resulting in several hours of material to be released hopefully this year.

“Mesnaoui, originally hailing from Rabat, studied piano in Paris and now resides in Berlin – probably one of the most promizing young talents with an amzing sonic language and a very unique way of playing “prepared inside-rhodes”.
